Kendal Food Hub

COVID-19 UPDATE: Please note that since the outbreak of COVID-19, Waste into Wellbeing has been running a very different operation to usual. Kendal People’s Cafe is currently closed and food bags are being distributed to those in need at three food shares around the town each. For full details, please visit our Facebook page. If you’re interested in volunteering during this time, we’re asking that you contact Trustee, Chris Rowley (slacc@slacc.org.uk) rather than signing up via the app as would be the norm.

In September 2019, The Hub opened in Kendal. It enables Waste into Wellbeing to collect, sort and store larger amounts of food before being re-distributed to various local organisation and residents’ associations supporting those in need.

The Food Hub supports groups such as Manna House, Growing Well, Sandylands Residents Association, Kirkbarrow Residents Association, Hallgarth Community Centre Food Share, South Lakes Foyer and Kendal Repair Cafe.
