Coal Mine Decision Delayed

We were expecting a decision on the Cumbria Coal Mine on or before the 7th July  but, at 3.30 pm on the 6th, received an email from the department of Levelling Up, Housing and Communities (LUHC) saying the decision would be delayed. The reason for the delay got clearer as the day progressed!

Today, on the 7th July , Greg Clark was appointed to replace Michael Gove, and this afternoon we got an email saying that the decision would be announced by the 17th August. We are glad that the new Secretary of State is taking time to assess the Inspector’s Report, but have no idea whether he will say YES or NO to it.

Thank you for all your help and support, do enjoy your summer, and we will let you know as soon as we have any more news.
