GLEANING NETWORK – HELP IDENTIFY SURPLUS FOOD FoodFutures is North Lancashire’s award-winning Sustainable Food Network. We are working to build a collaborative community of practitioners, food citizens, policy makers and researchers that work on food matters in the local area. We have recently established a gleaning network where surplus produce is harvested by volunteers and redistributed for bellies, not bins. This work has stemmed from Feedback’s gleaning network which you can find out more about here. The local network is still sprouting from the ground and finding its roots but we are looking for local trees, allotments, orchards, gardens and farms (meat, dairy, fruit, veg) that may have excess/surplus/unsellable food we can rescue. If you know of such places, please get in touch with Martin here. Do get in touch if you are interested in being kept up to date with the network too. Check out what we got up to on our very first glean here!
