SLACC Trustees and our legal team are still waiting for news from Manchester High Court. A decision as to whether or not SLACC could proceed to challenge Michael Gove’s decision to approve the Whitehaven coal mine had been expected in early March. But we have not heard yet.
The Court first makes a decision simply based on the “papers”, so if they do say no we will be able to ask for “our day in court” for our legal team to explain our case.
It is quite possible that the case will only come to Court for a substantive hearing in late summer. You can be sure that we will let you know as soon as we can.
